I am kinda surprised bucket hat is back again cause it did trend in 2016 and I didn’t expect it to make a comeback soon but here I am writing a whole blog post about it.
I wasn’t really interested in the trend at the beginning of the year because I was thinking it won’t really go well with my headscarf. Then I started seeing looks from other hijabis and I knew I could make it work. I started looking out for them anytime I go thrifting but never find one. Until recently when I found two! and this denim one is my favorite.
I wanted this bucket hat to give a cool kid vibe hence this look. I styled it with my wide-leg pants from this post. I layered a silk top with a white tee and also finished up the look with a converse and a beaded vintage bag which is why I am looking like I came out of a nighties movie.
TIPS ON HOW TO STYLE A BUCKET HAT WITH THE HEAD SCARF

- pull your hair to the back and low so the hat can actually fit well.
- Also, tie your scarf to the back for the same reason I mentioned earlier.
- If you are not comfortable tying your scarf as a turban, just drape your scarf and place the hat on it before (don’t forget to pull your hair to the back.
- Use a silk scarf if you can so the hat can slide on easily.

What’s your take on the bucket hat trend? How would you style yours?
Zaynab XO…
I really loved how you style the bucket hat with the 🧣 and everything just looked perfect 💯👌🏾.
You’ve inspired me to try this out in my own boyish way. I’m stopping here cause I’m off to thrift for my own bucket hat.

Using the bucket hat on my kind of hijab will definitely look weird and out of place. What is your advice on this, as a pro?

Lol…if it’s not your style, you can just try it out for a cool outing with friends probably like a picnic. Kinda fits the occasion
